Real Simple Magazine App Reviews

Love it so much!

As the mother/step-mother of 3 very unique individuals, life is never dull. Two of the children are incredibly resourceful & self-sufficient. The third (and oldest) either forgets that he has a project altogether or just doesnt care. Getting this child to do anything is the most stressful thing in my life. The battles span the gamut from his wearing deodorant to washing the sheets I purchased for him 5 months ago (and he hasnt laundered them not even once). THIS, my friends, is where Real Simple comes into the picture. Aided by the fantastic articles, checklists, demonstrative photography, plus the handy take-along apps, I am never without the calming influence that is Real Simple. While one very small corner of my life is in total chaos, thanks to Real Simple, the important parts of my familys life is fresh, comfortable and organized...all thanks to Real Simple.

Easy-to-use app

Love this mag, and the e-version is easy to use. A little annoying when i accidentally open the link to an advertisement when I just want to turn the page.

So far, so bad

I tried to download the first magazine. It had a non-network problem. Now it only gives me the option to buy the magazine. After I paid for the prescription. Not "real simple".

Great portability of an excellent magazine with few glitches

I love Real Simple magazine. Being a collector (subscriber) of various Home,Garden, Fashion, Photography, Architecture, Financial, and Travel magazines - I have often said if I had to pare down my subscriptions - Real Simple would be my first choice to keep. That being said, availability of an e subscription made it easy to keep the issues I love without the clutter. Downloading an issue was fairly easy - removing an issue was a little trickier as even tapping the issue for selection to delete would open it. Most of the links to websites for items in the magazine worked flawlessly (even links within those websites that were opened) and navigation back to the magazine was a breeze. Color quality of pages was almost perfect - had a slight "washed" quality to my eye (compared with other e versions of magazine that I have). Type size was reasonable for reading - and zoom was easy. All in all It was good - with one star deducted for pains in deleting issue, slight fuzz on colors, and glitchy website links (I am picky about my 5 star rating).

Lots of bugs

Real Simple is a good magazine but this app is buggy. I downloaded it, then tried to open it and set up my online subscription. I couldnt, though. The error message said that the app had been purchased with a different Apple ID. No, Id downloaded it moments before. Frustrating. Its ironic that the app is called Real Simple.

Real Life app

So far it locks up more than it has functioned. Took my money but gave me nothing in return

Love the e-version

Love the crisp images on my iPad. Plus love that I can click on items to get more detail or even purchase.

Real Simple app IS real simple.

I love the fact that I can now take my magazine(s) with me on the go ... without having my carry-on feel like its loaded with bricks!!

$23 Wasted.

I was excited to subscribe to Real Simple on my iPad. Too bad the page freezes and wont open. How do I cancel and get my money back? Total ripoff.

No more digital with print

Hate that I no longer get the digital with my print subscription. I am on the road a lot and would love the ability to do both without paying a fortune.

Not impressed at all

All the below is based around the iPhone app. I dont own an iPad so I can use those functions... Just got the subscription as a gift, and just signing up was more trouble than it should have been. The app doesnt even fit my iPhone 6. It was built for what it looks like, an iPhone 4. Im also disappointed with the fact that it doesnt rotate and you cant view it in 2 pages mode as if you were reading a real magazine. I was also bombarded by ads and can hardly find the art led because of them! Very disappointed. Were headed towards a digital age and just because I signed up for the magazine also doesnt mean I want to take it everywhere I go like I do my phone, which is more convenient when Im somewhere waiting and wanna read your magazine. This should be a priority and considering that the bigger phones have been out for over a year, I can see that its not.

Horrible excuse for an app

Every magazine from the same publishing company has a separate app. App updated and it forgot my subscription purchase with no straight forward way to fix. Restore purchases does not restore anything. Now I have spend time fixing rather than just reading the magazine.

Subscription

Subscription is very difficult to setup

Updated app does not work or has a major error

I have had access to the digital version of Real SimpleMagazine for several years and it worked great! Now it does not recognize my account, wont allow me to log into account. I thought it was just me but after reading these reviews I realize it is the app not me! Please someone fix it!!!!

Watch out, print subscribers will now have to pay for the electronic version of the magazine!

It clearly states on the info you read in the app and in the magazine that you get a complementary (FREE) electronic version of this magazine with a paid print subscription. I am a subscribed with the print version through the year 2019. And while trying to set up my account was told by a rep from the company over that I needed to pay extra to get the electronic version. WTH? What is strange is when I initially set up the electronic version in December. It showed me as a paid subscriber and allowed me to download all of the previous issues that I wanted had paid for. But come January they wouldnt recognize my account.

Wont load,

So disappointed! Paid the subscription fees, hit download and waited the rest of a rainy Sunday afternoon to read and drink coffee . Instead I watch the little circle go round and round until I caved to defeat. Please fix this! I see Im not the only one having these issues, so please either fix or refund my money. I believe this is a fair request and would appreciate hearing from you soon.

Love the magazine,hate the app

I am a paper subscriber and was of the impression i could either get the digital version included or at a minimal price...."have u lost ur mind" the rep must have been thinking when i called to "sort out" this obvious misunderstanding! They really need to read the comments being left here!

Love this!

This app allows me to read anywhere so that my issues dont pile up

Wont let me subscribe

Will only let me purchase for $5 an issue. The subscribe feature always says its not working.

Deceptive and a new ripoff policy

Id rather view this magazine on my iPad, and have for several years now as part of my print subscription. (Have subscribed since its inception!) I returned from an extended absence and sat down on the couch hoping for a pleasant session getting up to speed with my subscription. Hmmm. All signed in yet it was impossible to access my digital issues. Deleted, signed out, signed in, changed password wtc etc. Kept getting the message that I already had a digital copy. Aargh. I know that!! So frustrating. I then emailed and got this auto-message explaining their new greedy policy: We apologize for the difficulty that you have been experiencing with your digital access. We show that your digital access is no longer active. Due to the new way that our digital subscriptions are being provided to our customers, you will need to place a renewal order that includes a print and digital offer. You can place your order through our web site or contact customer service for your renewal options.
